How to convert .clip to PNG or JPG
- Open the
.clipfile above. - Hide anything you don't want in the picture — sketch layers, notes, the paper layer for a transparent background.
- In Export, pick PNG, JPG or WebP and the size, then click Download.
PNG, JPG or WebP?
- PNG
- Lossless, keeps transparency. Best for line art, comics, transparent stickers and anything you want to edit further.
- JPG
- Small files for photos and painted illustrations. No transparency (a white background is added).
- WebP
- Smaller than JPG at the same quality; supported by all modern browsers and most social networks.
Full resolution and print size
Exports keep the full canvas size and the resolution (dpi) set in Clip Studio Paint, so a 600 dpi A4 page stays print-ready. Use 50% or 25% for quick previews and messaging apps.
Exporting several pages
Comic projects store each page as its own .clip file. Open them one by one — each opens in a few seconds and nothing has to be installed.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get a transparent PNG?
Yes. Hide the paper layer (often called “Paper”) in the layer list and choose “Transparent background” in Export.
Why is the JPG background white?
JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. Use PNG or WebP if you need transparency.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. ClipPeak reads and renders the file entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else, which is why it also works offline once the page has loaded.
Do I need Clip Studio Paint installed?
No. You don’t need Clip Studio Paint, an account or any download. Any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android or iPad works.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit. Files of several hundred megabytes open fine on a computer; phones and tablets have less memory, so very large canvases may be shown at reduced size on screen (exports are still full size).
Why do some layers have a ≈ mark?
Clip Studio Paint does not always store pixels for text, vector and gradient layers — it redraws them when the file is opened. ClipPeak redraws them as well, which can differ slightly, especially for text if you don’t have the same font installed.
Can I open .cmc files?
A .cmc file is only the index of a multi-page comic or animation project. The pages themselves are stored as page0001.clip, page0002.clip … in the same folder — open those.
Does it cost anything?
ClipPeak is free. It is supported by unobtrusive ads; there are no watermarks, sign-ups or limits on the number of files.
